How to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your Le Bureau subscription, and what happens to your desktops.

Managing your subscription

You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time. All changes go through Stripe. There is no long-term contract.

Upgrading

To move from Free to Pro, or Pro to Max:

  1. Go to the Pricing page from the main navigation.
  2. Click Upgrade on the plan you want.
  3. Complete the Stripe Checkout session with your payment details.
  4. Your new plan takes effect immediately.

The increased resource limits and extra desktop slots are available right away. Existing desktops are not affected; they keep running with the same configuration. New desktops you create will use the resources from your new tier.

If you upgrade mid-cycle, Stripe prorates the charge. You only pay the difference for the remaining days in your billing period.

Downgrading

There is no direct downgrade button. To move to a lower tier:

  1. Cancel your current subscription from the billing portal.
  2. Wait for the current billing period to end.
  3. Subscribe to the lower tier from the Pricing page.

This way you use the full billing period you already paid for before switching.

What happens to extra desktops?

If you go from Max (10 desktops) to Pro (3 desktops) and have more than 3 active, you will need to stop the extras before creating new ones on the lower tier. Existing desktops are not automatically deleted. You choose which ones to keep.

Cancelling

  1. Open the billing portal.
  2. Click Cancel subscription.
  3. Confirm.

What happens when you cancel

  • Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period. You already paid for it.
  • No further charges after cancellation.
  • When the period ends, your account reverts to the Free tier (1 desktop, 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 20 GB disk).
  • If you have more desktops than the Free tier allows, they will be stopped. You can start one of them on the Free tier, or resubscribe to get them all back.

Your data is kept

Desktop data (files, installed software, configurations) is preserved after your subscription ends. If you resubscribe later, everything is still there. We do not delete desktop data unless you ask us to or delete the desktop yourself.

Resubscribing

Go to the Pricing page and subscribe to any plan. Your existing desktops and data are available again immediately.
