Common errors
Error messages you might see in Le Bureau, with causes and fixes.
Desktop errors
"Desktop failed to start"
The VM provisioning failed, usually because of a temporary infrastructure issue, insufficient host resources, or a missing provider configuration.
Wait a moment and try again. Make sure you have selected an AI provider and entered a valid API key. If it fails twice in a row, email contact@talentai.fr.
"Maximum desktops reached"
You have hit the desktop limit for your subscription tier.
Stop or delete an existing desktop to free a slot, or upgrade your tier. Note that stopped desktops still count toward your limit. You need to delete them to fully free the slot.
Agent errors
"Agent not ready"
The agent has not finished starting. It is the last service to come online, typically about 60 seconds after desktop creation.
Wait for the boot to finish. The chat panel enables automatically when the agent is ready. If it has been more than two minutes, stop and restart the desktop.
"Gateway agent failed; falling back"
The OpenClaw gateway failed to start or crashed. The usual causes are an invalid API key, an unavailable model, or a provider outage.
- Verify your API key on the provider's dashboard. Check that it is active and has credits.
- Check the provider's status page for incidents.
- If the key was wrong at creation time, delete the desktop and recreate it with a valid key.
"Rate limit exceeded"
You sent too many requests to the AI provider in a short period. Each provider enforces limits based on your API plan.
Wait a few minutes before sending more messages. Free-tier API keys have strict limits. If you hit this often, consider upgrading your plan with the provider.
"Provider configuration required"
No provider or API key was set when the desktop was created.
Delete the desktop and create a new one. Select an AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, or OpenRouter), enter your API key, and choose a model. All three are required.
Connection errors
"WebSocket connection failed"
The browser could not open a WebSocket connection to the desktop. This happens when the desktop is not fully booted, when there is a network problem, or when a firewall blocks WebSocket traffic.
- Confirm the desktop status is running in the dashboard
- Refresh the page to force a new connection
- Try a different browser or disable extensions
- On a corporate network, test on a different network. WebSocket traffic may be blocked by your firewall.
Quick troubleshooting checklist
- Is the desktop in running state? Many errors resolve once the boot finishes.
- Is your API key valid and funded? Check on the provider's website.
- Have you waited at least 60 seconds? VNC and terminal come up before the agent.
- Have you tried restarting? Stop the desktop, wait for stopped, then start it again.
- Same error on multiple desktops? That points to a platform issue. Check Le Bureau's social channels or email contact@talentai.fr.
