Screenshots
Capture and download screenshots of your desktop from the dashboard.
Taking screenshots
You can capture the current state of your desktop directly from the dashboard. Useful for checking on your agent's progress, documenting work, or sharing what the desktop looks like without keeping the VNC viewer open.
How to take a screenshot
- Open your desktop in the dashboard.
- Click the Screenshot button in the toolbar.
- The desktop is captured as an image.
- The screenshot appears in the dashboard and can be downloaded.
Screenshots show exactly what the VNC viewer displays: the full XFCE desktop at its current resolution.
When screenshots are useful
Checking progress -- If your agent is running a long task, take a screenshot instead of keeping a live VNC connection open. It uses much less bandwidth.
Documenting results -- After the agent finishes a task (filling out a form, generating a chart, building a UI), capture a screenshot for your records.
Debugging -- If something looks off, a screenshot gives you a quick snapshot to reference or share.
Screenshots vs. VNC viewer
| Screenshots | VNC viewer | |
|---|---|---|
| Bandwidth | Low (single image) | High (live stream) |
| Interactivity | View only | Full mouse + keyboard |
| Use case | Quick check, documentation | Active work, real-time monitoring |
| Requires running desktop | Yes | Yes |
Tips
- Screenshots are captured server-side, so they work even on slow connections.
- Image resolution matches the desktop's current resolution.
- For programmatic screenshots, use the API.
